Cette installation affiche une puissance de 70 kilowatt-cr\u00eate, soit pr\u00e8s de 70 000 watts. Aujourd\u2019hui, la production du syst\u00e8me install\u00e9 couvre environ la moiti\u00e9 des besoins \u00e9lectriques du b\u00e2timent sur une ann\u00e9e. En milieu de journ\u00e9e, autour de 12h30, les panneaux prennent totalement en charge l\u2019alimentation en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Aux heures les plus ensoleill\u00e9es, ils atteignent m\u00eame 100 % d\u2019autonomie. En revanche, d\u00e8s la fin d\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi, lorsque le soleil d\u00e9cline, c\u2019est le r\u00e9seau qui assure de nouveau la fourniture d\u2019\u00e9nergie d\u2019o\u00f9 cette moyenne annuelle de 50 %. Cette capacit\u00e9 d\u2019autoproduction contribue \u00e9galement \u00e0 att\u00e9nuer un probl\u00e8me r\u00e9current pour EDF \u00e0 Saint-Barth\u00e9lemy : le pic de consommation observ\u00e9 \u00e0 la mi-journ\u00e9e. Le photovolta\u00efque ne repr\u00e9sente pas une solution unique aux d\u00e9fis \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques de l\u2019\u00eele, mais il constitue ind\u00e9niablement une pi\u00e8ce essentielle du puzzle. Chaque kilowattheure solaire produit vient remplacer un kilowattheure issu du fioul, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant des b\u00e9n\u00e9fices autant sur le plan \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique
